“ Kusayui ” is is a Farmhouse/Guest House in Japan.
Located in Kunisaki City, Oita Prefecture.
We were led by a grass called “ Shichitoui ” ,
moved to Kunisaki City.
Grass has been an essential part of our lives since ancient times.
Sometimes used as a medicine,
and, It becomes tea and moisturizes the body.
By making threads from the fibers of grass and weaving and knitting,
It can be used as a living tool or clothes.
Various grasses have been used in the play of children.
In Kunisaki City, which is rich in nature,
I want to "tie" great relationships with many people through grass,
From that thought, I named it "Kusayui".
Surrounded by the sounds of nature,
You can spend a relaxing time here.

Called "Rokugo Manzan".

The inland area of the Kunisaki Peninsula is followed by numerous pass roads.
Because there is less traffic and fewer traffic lights,
Perfect for cycling.

- What is "Shichitoui" Grass? -
"Shichitoui Grass" is a plant of the Cyperaceae family,
Only produced in the Kunisaki region of Oita prefecture.
This grass is source of tatami mat.
“Igusa (rush)” is similer,
While the cross section of igusa is round,
Shichitoui is have a triangular shape.
Since the tatami mats of Shichitoui are very durable,
It has been used as a tatami mat for judo.
It is also used in crafts such as cusion, pot mat and sandals .
